Renderer
The renderer is the customer-facing seat selection view. It displays your published seatmap and lets ticket buyers choose their seats interactively.
How it works
Once your seatmap is saved and the event is live, the renderer loads the same data you created in the designer and presents it as an interactive seat picker.
Renderer features
| feature | description |
|---|---|
| section overview | Shows all sections with names and availability |
| seat selection | Click individual seats to add to cart |
| GA quantity | For GA zones, buyers select a quantity instead of specific seats |
| zoom and pan | Navigate large venues with pinch/scroll zoom |
| legend | Color-coded key showing categories and prices |
| cart | Selected seats shown in a sidebar cart |
| seat limit | Configurable maximum seats per transaction |
What buyers see
The renderer shows:
- Sections color-coded by category
- Available vs sold vs blocked seats (different visual states)
- Section names and row labels for wayfinding
- Decorative elements (stage, icons, shapes) for orientation
- Pricing in the legend
Display modes
| mode | description |
|---|---|
| all sections | Entire venue visible, click to drill into sections |
| single section | Zoomed into one section showing individual seats |
Configuration
The renderer is configured separately from the designer. Key options include:
- Channel - web, POS, or reporting view
- Seat limit - max seats per transaction
- Gap avoidance - prevent single-seat gaps
- Show legend - display the category legend
- Show cart - display the selection cart
- Reveal mode - how sections are revealed (all at once, by category, etc.)
Tips
Tip: Always preview your seatmap in the renderer before going live. Check that sections are correctly named, seats are properly categorized, and the layout looks clear to someone who has never visited the venue.
Tip: Gap avoidance prevents buyers from leaving a single empty seat between selections. This is important for maximizing capacity - a lone empty seat between two groups is almost impossible to sell.
